Almost finished reading 50 Shades trilogy

I like Nelson DeMille books, especially the ones set on Long Island. Plum Island, Gold Coast, The Lion's Game, The General's Daughter, Cathedral, etc. They are fast reads and always keep me interested.

I have been reading Phillippa Gregory's historical fiction novels. Some of them are:

The Red Queen
The White Queen
The Other Bolyn Girl
The Virgin Queen
there are a few others

They are the author's idea of what may have taken place during the period of time before Henry VIIIth came into power and while he came into power and then after he died through Queen Bloody Mary and Anne Bolyn's daughter's Queen Elizabeth.

I am also a fan of Nora Roberts and enjoy her triology and quartet books.

Nora Roberts also writes under the name of JD Robb. This is a series of books. I think it is up to about 25. They are set in the future and are about a female police detective and the various/interesting murder/mysteries she solves. These should be read in order also.

There were a couple of books that I read that were by an author, but for the life of me I can't remember her name or the books names and I would like to read more of her books. Some were set in the 17/1800's and then some were set in the present. But the theme was about a secret society that studied paranormal stuff. If anyone recognizes this, let me know.

After I read your post I saw in todays newspaper the author was in New Haven CT the night before. At the bookclub last night I mentioned this book. Everyone was excited that I brought it up because they also have heard about it from people who have read all three. This is our next book for the bookclub. This should be interesting as we are two different age generations. Having the next book club at a wine bar so we should be OK to discuss some of it...

I am number 600 in line for the book at the public library. So last night I ordered it from Amazon.

A gal at work said she read two of the books in one night. Now she is sad because she does not know what else to read. She enjoyed this series and she is an avid reader.

I'm reading "Fifty Shades of Grey" and I am finding it boring except for the sexual parts. The sexual parts just plan make me angry. It's a bunch of BS as far as I am concerned and The dominant should be shot!

I'm not sure I felt this strong 1/2 way through the 1st book. But I certainly didn't care for him at times. But progressing through the series, well what a change of view. By the end I felt for him and enjoyed his charachter.

Actually this is the series of books I was going to recommend. They are a good mix of thriller/mystery, romance and a little spice.

The author is Jayne Ann Krentz and it is the Arcane series. There is a companion series set in the past written under the name of Amanda Quick. I have only read some of the ones set in modern day. But a enjoyed them. A nice light vacation read.

Right now I am reading the third book of the Hunger Games trilogy. I've enjoyed them very much.
