Wow, these are great concerts. Music really is generational. I guess we are from the same generation.

I am often leery about seeing these 'older' bands live... but sometimes they are terrific. We saw The Band a number of years in a smaller venue in NYC. They were so awful I cried (Rick Danko's heroin problem was publicized three weeks later). A year or so later we saw Yes and they sounded better than they did on their albums. Then we saw Page and Plant at Jones Beach and they were pretty disappointing, though I heard we got a bad night in an otherwise decent tour...

Crosby, Stills and Nash have gotten mixed reviews the past few years, but the addition of Neil Young is making me kick myself that we'll be away that week.

Simon and Garfunkel were in Houston last year and I was really worried that I would be disappointed. But they were actually very very good. I was so happy that they could still sing well! Whew!

Bob Dylan is probably the safest bet on the list, he never could sing! (I do know that being a sage and a poet make up for that...)

I saw the who when I was young. I can't remember if I enjoyed it or not. I must have been stoned I did enjoy Tommy the play, I recall that well as I was with my wife and not stoned.

Actually, we saw him a couple of years ago and he sings better now than ever. Of course, I must add that I am a hard core Dylan fan, have been since the 60's so I am probably not real objective on the subject.
As for the other groups, we saw The Who a few years ago and they were pretty good also, funny they had Billy Idol with them as part of their group.
Also, saw Crosby Stills and Nash reciently and they sounded great. Young was not touring with them then. Only trouble with that tour is ticket prices at least up by us. They are at SPAC in Saratoga Springs, NY and the inside seats go for $175 a ticket and even lawn seats are $50 or $60. They have never had a ticket that expensive at SPAC, don't know if adding Young back in makes it worth that much more!!

I won't pay that much to see any concert. I have paid almost that for the Metropolitan Opera (on very rare occasion), where a spectacular evening is guaranteed.
