Lonely Planet books become more and more commercialized. Last few times we used them, they don't even separate hotels into budget/middle/expensive any more (ex. France). They just present some very expensive options only. So their books were mostly useless for hotels, had to look on the internet anyway. Only used lonely planet books to find points of interest.
