Tom Petty was rushed to the hospital Sunday night after he was found unconscious, not breathing and in full cardiac arrest ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ

After Petty got to the hospital he had no brain activity and a decision was made to pull life support.

He made a lot of good music. 66 going on 67, just finish up A Long tour and said it would probably be his last.

I think because of the Vegas shooting taking the headlines, Tom's passing kind of went unnoticed by many. Im in Mexico so the news channels I have seen are more focused on other dealios. Mostly gun control now.

We have seen Tom many times and most of his music is on my hard drive.

Tom Petty was one of the greatest. I'm so sad I never had the pleasure of seeing him perform live. RIP
