    The Departed

Well, the premiere was held the other night and the reviews are good.

I'm going tomorrow, opening day. I'll mark the time that my rental property two family makes its debut !

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Well, I saw the movie and my house.

The movie was better than okay, but not great and certainly not deserving of the acclaimed hype I've been reading, but this is JMHO. Maybe it was great for this genre of films, but the story faltered and could've been a bit more developed. Wahlberg, for me, was the standout actor.

It was more of a Peckinpah meets Scorcesse. If you like "head shots", then this is your film.

My house appeared for a couple/few seconds. It's in the scene where DiCaprio (Billy Kostigan) is waiting alone in the dark in a black hooded sweatshirt.
There's a stained glass window in front. Oscar time for my house !

I know that it was the scene of my house that gave this movie its Oscar.

I'd like to thank the Academy and all the little people....................

              Yep thats what did it.

BTW we walked on the red carpet 3 days ago. My cousin placed his carpet cleaning company card below the plastic that was preserving the carpet. It was nice to have toched the carpet and then see it on TV 2 days later.

Well, my contractors are hard at work transforming my 2 family. I have put it on the market.

Go to REALTOR.com - Real Estate Listings & Homes For Sale and then hit advanced search. Then scroll down to enter the MLS #s which are : 70606486 for the smaller first floor unit and the bi-level with 2 en-suite bathrooms : 70606491

I will miss owning them, but will buy a new flip in South Boston - 02127.

                B.

I didn't know you were flipping! Is there anything you haven't done??? Your list of 100 things to do must be one that you have tackled pretty successfully..

Yes and I have the grey hair and ulcers to prove this.

Actually, I was going to hold onto these and just rent, but a realtor friend of mine said "Jeannie, there's a pent-up request for this area (near the water) and if you rent them now and sell them later, they won't be considered "new construction" and that could reduce your selling price". Hmmm. The notoriety of having been in "The Departed" hasn't affected the price either way from what I can tell.
So, carpetbagger that I am, here's my flip if it is one at all. I've had these for a loooong time.
I will buy again, but will not realize the profit margin that I have from these.
I got these years ago and my family laughed when I paid the grand sum of $19K for them. They're not laughing now, but I do see a lot of hands stretched out.
