  • Your favorite Genre of music

What is your favorite genre of music? Over the years my taste in music has change. I use to listen to just Rock Music now I like to listen to The Blues, Reggae, The 50's, and some instrumental music as my favorite genres.
However I can listen to just about anything but RAP

Performers I would like to see are Etta James, BB King, Yanni, and Jimmy Buffet. I would also like to The River Dance.

My tastes have moved from Rock and Folk in the sixties(at my age we all listened to rock in the sixties) to JJazz. However, I still listen to select goodies from the sixties. (another attempt to stay young)

      changes

I probably am the opposite of some. Didn't start getting into metal music until into my 40's. I saw Mettallica 2 years ago. I like "System of A Down" now. They're kind of a punk metal gypsy music. Started to like the Grateful Dead late and Blue Grass as well. Little bit different than dancing on stage with Aerosmith when I worked for Harvey Weinstein (Miramax) back in B uffalo in the early 70's.

Rock & roll and classical in my youth, but then jazz, folk and heavy metal. Not fond of Rap or most of the Country stuff, but do like a wide variety of sounds. Really impressed with a newcomer to the American scene- Sissel (from Norway-did the vocals for the DiCaprio Titanic film).

            World music.

prog-rock (Genesis, Yes, Floyd, etc.), classic rock (Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, etc.) and grunge (Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Bush, etc). Rap gets a bad rap sometimes, like all genres, there will be something in it that you like if you keep an open mind.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

As a teen growing up in the sixtys it was all rock and roll, now called classic rock. That is what I mostly play on the guitar but now I normally listen to country. I cringe anytime I hear RAP, guess I am just getting old.
