  • What is Your Favorite Christmas Album?

I have just started decorating the house for Christmas, and so I pulled out my Christmas music. I have a pretty large selection, and I definitely have some favorites such as Streisand, Dianna Ross, Kenny G, Johnny Mathis, Salsoul Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, ect.....I think out of all of them, my favorite is Barbra Streisand/A Christmas Album.

I would like to purchase a few new albums this year. Any that you would suggest? What's your favorite Christmas Album?

Salsoul Orchestra was always a hit in my house but in the last two years I get into realy blasting the Trans-Siberian Orchestra CD. I crank up the Christmas in Sarajevo song and The carol of the bells by I think it was either the Trans-Siberian Orchestra or by Mannheim Steamroller.

      Frank,

I don't have either of those albums. Maybe I can get one of my kids to down load them for me. Thanks!

It's got to be Bing Crosby Christmas.

Mine is a Hawaiian Christmas album I got last year... I will try to remember to post the name when I get home. Not your traditional christmas album, though

We also get a lot of mileage out of A Reggae Christmas

            BB,

Thanks for the link. I actually thought that I might have one his albums, but I don't, or can't find it anyway. I do have a bunch of the old timers, tho. I love listening to them.

            Avery,

Yours sound very interesting. When you get home, please post the names. We all really like Reggae music, especially my daughter. BB is in Hawaii, so maybe he has heard of the album that you got from there.

It's funny; at one time the three top Christmas Albums were recorded by Jewish perfomers (Barbara Streisand, Kenny G and Neil Diamond). I don't know if this is still true.

              I have a preference for Jazz/Blues:

Steve Tyrel: This Time Of The Year
              Diana Krall: Christmas Songs
Various Artists: Jazz to the World
              Manhattan Transfer: An Acapella Christmas
              Manhattan Transfer: The Christmas Album
Vince Guaraldi: A Charlie Brown Christmas

And of course; any of the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas Albums

Oracle....if you prefer Jazz, you might like 'Craig Chaquico Holiday'

He is actually one of my all time favorite artist, I absolutely love him. But, for some reason, I don't have his Christmas album. I am going to order it from Amazon, as soon as I figure out what other albums to order with it.....I want that free shipping.

                  ArtsieAng,

Thanks, I'll check him out. I found him on iTunes for $11.99 to download the album. I then burn the CD with the iTunes software. I did that with my purchase of the Gabe Dixon Band album and it worked great.

Immediate gratification and cheaper too. What a country!

                      same artist, different album.

                      Bing Crosby's "White Christmas"

be very careful there are a few different versions with the same title. This one has Christmas in Killarney and Mele Kalikimaka and is an honest CD version of the one I grew up with.

I knew that I had some Bing Crosby Christmas music somewhere. It is included on an album called 'Now That's What I Call Christmas...Past and Present'

It has everyone from Bing Crosby to Elvis Presley, to John & Yoko......It does have Bing Crosby's White Christmas, but I don't know if it is the right one. It also has Bing Crosby & David Bowie, Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth.

I previously posted my favorite in this thread.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

                          “You shouldn't wear that body.”

Wait I forgot about the chipmunks Christmas album.

WE also had a good one from Hanna Barbra which had some TV classics singing.
