  • Manfred Mann's Earth Band: Blinded by the Light

    The real lyrics were:
    Revved up like a deuce
    Another runner in the night

    I misheard them as:
    Wrapped up like a douche
    Another rumour in the night

Back in the days before the internet, if the words weren't on the album cover, you had to just guess.

I can still hear the girl in my driver's ed car belting out the words to Billy Idol's "Eyes Without A Face" as "How's About A Date!"
    ~Arlene

Strange but those Manfred Mann lyrics just came up here a month or so ago.

And can anybody figure out what words Stevie Nicks sings ?

When my wife and I were first dating, we were singing along to "I'd Really Love to See You Tonight" by England Dan and John Ford Coley when my wife belted out:

"I'm not talking 'bout the linen and I don't want to change your life".

Of course, I had to ridicule her and let her know that it was actually:

"I'm not talking about a millenium and I don't want to change your life".

        The real song lyrics are:

"I'm not talking 'bout movin' in and I don't want to change your life".
"A man that doesn't spend time with his family, can never be a real man" The Godfather

          Stevie Nicks

          The real lyrics were:
Just like a white winged dove...

          But I misheard them as:
Just like a one winged dove...
What I once considered boring, I now consider paradise.

Good start, what about the rest of the song and the other songs ?

I would look it up, but I've always liked speculating- when I just don't change them myself for humorous purposes.

              Creedence Clearwater:

I always used to sing "There's a bathroom on the right" when I was young, as opposed to "a bad Moon on the Rise".

I think the song was from the Raspberries that sang, "please go all the way" and I thought it said "please go away."
