We rarely go to movies, but yesterday saw Dreamgirls. We really enjoyed it. I love musicals and this brought back memories of great musicals. Jennifer Hudson, who I didn't particularly like on American Idol, stole the show. Has anyone else seen it and what were you thoughts about it?

I adore Jennifer! I voted for her like crazy on AI til she had to go. The song genres on that show were all wrong for her, until she got to do "Singer's Choice" and did the Circle of Life from Lion King. Blew me away. Her Weekend in New England was also fantastic.

As for her Dreamgirls appearance, she deserves all the accolades. She's also the nicest person...I've had the opportunity to send and receive msgs with her via some of her fan sites. She is blessed with great talent and will go far. Can't wait for her CD debut!

P.S. Eddie Murphy was also excellent, his best ensemble work ever IMHO.

LOVED it! Took my 16 year old dd and she loved it to. I'd seen the stage version years ago and remembered the basic story. I thought Jennifer Hudson was fantastic. I don't watch American Idol, so I was not familiar with her. I thought she and Eddie Murphy both deserved the Golden Globes they received for their work in that movie. The movie audience broke out in applause twice for Jennifer.
