Sanjaya...Finally, he's gone!!!

There is no Cary Underwood or Chris Daughtrey or Kelly Clarkson with this bunch. None of them are even pleasant to look at. They kicked off all the good looking women. Melinda or whatever her name is sings the best but ugly dont sell records and wont get people to go to their concerts. American Idol this year blew it.

What a nasty thing to say! Many of the great singers of the past were nothing special to look at. (And neither was Ruben Studdard, actually.) What difference should it make what a singer looks like? You don't hear them with your eyes.

who cares really? I think the shooting at VA Tech, oh, and now NASA probably are a bit more important, and for heaven's sake, how mean spirited to talk about how ugly they are (or aren't), though I wouldn't know since AI isn't exactly a riveting show anyway. But god, shallow shallow shallow.
Worry about changing the world and making it a better place perhaps.

Thanks kapish....I just watched the tape. I have to admit, Sanjaya is really a very sweat kid, very likable. Plus, I just found out that he's half Italian. Still, I don't think he was a very good singer.

Sanjaya said on the tape that he thought that Simon saw potential in him, and that he didn't live up to it. Hmmmm, that was never the impression that I got from Simon. I thought that Simon was getting ready to quit, each week, when Sanjaya wasn't voted off.

Katheren: I am still in shock about the tragedy at VA Tech. I am glad our 11 year old did not watch any of the TV news that showed some of those images over and over. On the other hand, we watched AI and Sanjaya. It is a distraction ... just like these forums

Angela: I also got a kick out of Sanjaya being half Italian. He is a good kid (not a great singer) ... and continues to be in the limelight. Fun to watch him. Soon he will be forgotten and some other person will get all this attention.

Lighten up

If you are bothered by me saying that american idol doesnt have any decent looking people on it is "such a nasty thing" and calling me "meanie" then it appears you must be pretty naive about most men. Men like to look at attractive ladies. We do. That might not please you, but it is the truth. If your significant other tells you different he is lying. It wasnt like I called your baby ugly or something.

My opinion is that the talent is really poor this year on the show. None of the contestants seem like a star.

If you like this years contestants, more power to you, I wont try to change your opinion, just lighten up, have some fun, my opinion is honest, but probably not politcally correct.

i don't watch it

I don't have time to watch tv, and if I did, AI certainly would not be on my list of must see tv. As for men liking to watch attractive women and that's just how it is, that's lame. You can say anything you want, doesn't mean I can't find it to be a repulsive statement. Yeah, I know men can be like that...doesn't make it right or okay. There are more important things going on in the world than judging someone by how they look, and if you consider AI to just be a distraction and/or pure entertainment, then why rip the contestants apart? Makes no sense.
Lighten up eh? I am actually a rather bubbly gal in reality...just galls me when people are mean and shallow. Life sucks enough as it is without folks being snarky. So, I'd encourage you to actually enjoy whatever it is you watch, and if you think it sucks, don't watch it. Find something that brings you joy without having to be derogatory in order to feel better about yourself.
