  • Neat things sometimes happen - Luciano serenades me daughter at her wedding.

Last Thursday night I hosted a wedding reception dinner for my daughter and new SIL in the dining room at Mary's Boon in Sint Maarten. (The wedding was on Simpson Bay beach about 500 yards from Mary's Boon - after the ceremony and photos we all strolled along the beach to Mary's Boon for the reception/dinner.)

While we were eating Luciano came in, by himself with just his guitar, and gave an impromptu concert for everyone in the dining room. He was staying at Mary's Boon in advance of a Saturday night concert with Sean Paul, and Luciano stopped in just because he felt like playing for a bit.

After playing for the whole room (about 30 people) for about half an hour, he came over where we were and played a couple of wedding songs for my daughter and SIL. He asked their names and included their names in the songs.

    It was pretty damn special.

“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

    “You shouldn't wear that body.”

How very special and what a nice memory to have. They look very nice and so happy. I am listening to his music now and like it very much.

For a sec I thought you meant Luciano Pavarotti. Which when I was a young and working in a wine liquor store met him. I had no idea who he was back then, He was good friends with my boss and my boss introduced me to him. He could tell I had no idea who he was. He at the time owned a winery in Italy. I wish I knew which one it was so I could buy some wine from there.

In the Antilles, Luciano ain't "Pavarotti".

That's who I thought until I saw the picture. I figured Luciano was not quite who I thought he was. Congratulations on your daughter's wedding. Looks like it was a wonderful evening.
