  • Does anyone watch Anthony Bourdain on the Travel Channel?

I just recently found NY chef Anthony Bourdain's show on the Travel Channel. That man is a riot! He not only eats food all over the world, but his show is a complete travel guide of a country's history and culture, not to speak of his camera man's great work in filming Bourdain's escapades.

I just watched a show he did on China. I found it very interesting as many parts of China are changing into a modern society, although there are those that live in rural areas that still maintain traditions passed down from centuries of generations. I love this show. I believe he's up for an emmy. The name of his show is No Reservations.

I've seen his show only a couple of times, and it is very good. Watching some of the disgusting things people eat around the world left me feeling squeamish and queasy though. Although, his show isn't nearly as bad in this regard as Andrew Zimmer.

If you want a great read...check out "Kitchen Confidential" By Tony Bourdain. I am a long time Chef in the business and this book is the funniest and most realistic book ever written on the subject. Bob

        I worked with Tony.

The restaurant is featured in the "Kitchen Confidential" book - the chapter title is "Apocalypse Now."

Tried to, but don't like him. Not sure why, but he irritates me.

I did not like him either.

If you read the book you can tell why he was a hard guy to like. He is a very different person today.

Love him and his sarcasm. My son bought my husband Kitchen Confidential and had AB sign it. He just wrote another one Nasty Bits.

Today I watched a Food Channel special with AB and Zimmer eating wacky foods in NYC courtesy of TiVo. I prefer his show to Zimmers.

I like watching food shows that are combined with travel and the cultural story behind the food.

Giada has one called ,"Weekend Getaways", aside from her normal show. Burt Wolfe was another show I really enjoyed.

Yes, I love him. He was asked about how much he liked his job. He replied since he can pick where he wants to travel, it's not too rough.

One note on his travels. We just recently watched his trip to Ireland. Again as said in previous posts, it's not all about the food, but a great about the culture. I think it enhances the cuisine experience. That Irish stew he had in a little pub had my mouth watering.
