Is anyone else going to the summer of love 40th Anniversary or even thinking of going to this event ?

I have a couple of extra back stage passes if someone wants to go.

My friends are all taken care of for this show and I still have a couple of extra back stage passes if some one wants to go.

Ten years ago when we put on the 30th Anniversary of the Summer of Love, I had a couple of extra back stage passes, so I went out in the crowd and found two people that were on vacation from Switzerland and I gave them the passes. They came back stage with me and we all had a great time.

I hope someone takes them from ts4ms, but if no one can use them, I will be looking for two people on vacation.

Ran in to Big Rick and his wife at the summer of love concert in SF and they brought the Sacramento sunshine with them .

The sad thing is there was so many people back stage I lost them and Josie. But Josie hung out with them for awhile and she told me they were sitting next Lydia Pense and Cold Blood for awhile. That’s to cool

I just talked to Big Rick on the phone and they said they stayed until the end of the show and watched Cold Blood and all the other bands that played. (With free beer from back stage.) Way to go Rick

Rick I am glad you came to the show and had fun.
                Let’s do it again!!

I went out in the crowd and found two people that were vacationing from Wisconsin, they said they had no idea when they came to SF the Summer of Love concert was going happen. They decided to come to the concert this morning for something to do while vacationing in SF. They were very surprise and happy to be given two back stage passes.

It felt good to put a smile on someone face then just walk away.

That is really such a great thing you did. I bet they'll never forget it.

Summer of Love bands and fans jam in Golden Gate Park

A crowed estimated at more than 50,000 people, spanning multiple generations, filled the meadow to listen to a procession of '60s rock bands under a cloudless sky

Just wanted to say we had a great time at the event. I would've posted sooner but we were still enjoying the high we got at the concert. Just like the old days in SF!

We really had a nice time that day. We came from Sacramento with its 100+ temperatures on Friday (we needed to get into the City before the Bay Bridge closed Friday evening). Saturday we got settled and made arrangements with Ken for the back stage passes. Awesome Dude!

Sunday we hung out back stage. Lots of free beer, free HOT food, and free people. And lots of music by lots of bands. Each band got about 15 minutes to play and they kept to the schedule which was a huge change from the old days.

Sunday in the park with temperatures in the 70s or low 80s I got my first sunburn of the summer. Not in Sac with higher temperatures but in SF with lower temps. Go figure!

Monday we soaked up more sun over at Dolores Park (by Mission Dolores). I called Ken and he was home (near Golden Gate Park) with no sun. He was looking for heat while I was getting my second layer of sunburn from these low temps. Ah the joys of SF sun!

So no fried brains (for us) at the Summer of Love concert. Just fried skin!

We left SF on Friday, drove home, and returned Sunday to attend the Giants-Dodgers came. The skies were hazy until the sun came out about the 8th inning and the Giants scored and won the game! And I didn't burn anymore!

What a great time we had in SF! Thanks again Ken!
