Leaving the ballet parking lot, the drifts so high you can't see if anyone's coming until you're practically in the road. Both entrances are one way but there are no direction arrows or anything, so that can be a little interesting even on good days. People who've been going for years kind of have a system -- enter from the west and go around the lot counter-clockwise -- but every once in a while you'll get a newbie who insists on going the wrong way. After having to deal with five or six cars in a row who are going the other way, driven by soccer moms who are Not Interested in helping you out of there, most people see the advantage of conformity. 
(but you knew that!!)..These fronts usually travel cross country. We got rain today also.....and LOTS of fog!! Hopefully this white crap will be short lived.............
I actually like fresh snow, but these dirty drifts need to go. 
No one likes the idea of Florida in the summer, but the only other time middle daughter has two weeks in a row is January; however, after much delay (first because hubby didn't get his act together, second because his boss had to think about it), yesterday hubby told me that, since the reorganization at work, he can't take two weeks off in January anymore. 
Middle daughter's okay with just spending a week out there and coming home early by herself, so I'm seriously considering going for spring break, which around here is the week after Easter. Then I consider the likely crowds at the parks that time of year... 
And we may be getting together with my side of the family in Fairfield Glade, TN for Christmas, which would be great if it works out. 
That part of Michigan is one of my favorite parts of the world, so Rockport appeals as well. It's on my "I really want to get to Acadia National Park" list. Which, in terms of what I want to do, is ahead of Finger Lakes, but in terms of what I'll probably end up doing, is further down the list. I am counting the days until middle daughter's no longer tied to ballet. We do vacation without her, but I have to pick those vacations carefully so she doesn't feel like she's missing out too much, which keeps that list of options pretty short.
