I guess I didn't think of them as soundtracks because the instrumentals (the overture, etc.) were re-workings of the songs they sang, and I think of soundtracks as having incidental or background music or themes (and if they don't, I complain!). Musicals have those and use them, but it's generally a song that the character sings at some point, and they don't make it to the soundtrack album.
