Apparently that group released all of two songs -- this one's the best!

Whenever I hear this, I think it was on the Cars sound track -- it wasn't, but I'm obviously not the only one who makes that connection.
No ~ you're not the only one! When I hear my 2 & 4 yo Grandsons singing these word for word without missing a beat .. I laugh every time!! And the little guy, no matter where he is, when the radio's on & this music starts.........."There goes Mack!!" and he's looking all over for him!!
Route 66 was written by Bobby Troup, who you may remember as Dr. Joe Early on Emergency! Nurse Dixie McCall was played by his wife Julie London, who is more remembered by her own generation as a jazz singer. As a kid I always knew she didn't belong with Dr. Brackett.
