Song is still great, but the quality of the recording is dismal.

Lived in Colorado fifteen years, loved the people there, hiked the mountains most summers, did a bunch of fourteeners, couldn't believe how many people in the Denver area didn't pay attention to various glorious sunsets behind the mountains, but while I enjoyed them since I was there anyhow and anywhere I really wanted to be wasn't accessible, I really do not get why anyone would travel to see the Rockies, at least the Colorado Rockies. I wasn't excited about moving out near them, and I never see a picture of them that makes me wish I were there now. Probably a serious character flaw on my part.

You've got to be kidding..............maybe it's just a case of "the grass is always greener............."! We spent a week in Pagosa Springs a few years back, and fell in love with the country! The Rockies are magical, the sunsets spectacular, and the sky so wide open. Any chance we have to go back to the area ~ we're there! Our dream vacation would be the Canadian Rockies ~ maybe one day we'll get there!

Denver's album I bought in Charlotte, NC -- this one I bought in Colorado.

Nope. Don't think it's just "the grass is always greener," because we'd all lived in the same states at that point (except that year in Florida for mom, but we'd all visited there), and while living and Colorado and ever since, my dad and brother think the West and the Rockies are the keenest thing ever, while mom and I were pretty "eh" for both of them. (No idea what my sister thinks on the subject; I suspect she doesn't care much and just agrees with whoever she's with.)

Colorado sunsets are nice, yes, but so are sunsets over Lake Michigan. And that wide open sky means no trees and little precipitation. Although I will say I've seen more rainbows in Colorado than anywhere else I've lived, maybe because it's so often sunny when it's raining.

Pagosa Springs looks pretty. Couple of shots on Google, the mountains are all below the timber line, which seems more restful to me and is one of the reasons I prefer the Appalachians. I'm not sure we ever got down to Pagosa Springs. We were mostly in the Front Range and the Sawatch, I think; Pagosa Springs is down in the San Juan Basin, which means it's a lot less claustrophobic than some other parts of CO.

Do you like the '60s??? If so, this is classic ....

Dick & Dee Dee "The Mountains High" & "Thou Shalt not Steal" .

On American Bandstand. With Dick Clark. 1960's fashion with the beehive hairdos and the skinny ties and the A-line skirts. Better yet, the music still sounds good after all of these years.

This video is a lot of fun. I never realized that those high fills were actually Dick in falsetto.

“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

                              “You shouldn't wear that body.”
