They never know when to leave well enough, alone. I'll most likely go and see though, but it won't be the same.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

I'll bet a lot of the fans of the original RHPS will see the new one...once.
No matter how good, it just won't be the same.

At least Richard O'Brien is still associated with the new version. That should help.

If it's actually good , it surely won't be the same.

Well said. The original, when watched on TV outside of a theater packed with oddly dressed people throwing toast, raising umbrella's, firing off water pistols and adding lines into the show wasn't the same. In fact, it stunk. It was never a good movie. What saved it was the audience participation. How many theater owners do you think are going to go along with the audenience antics (thowing toast, shooting water pistol's et....) in their theater's? Without the audience participation, it's really a very bad movie.

I remember once squirting jergens hand lotion during one of the sex scene's. Somehow, I don't think a theater owner today is going to appreciate that move. I'm not certain they did back then either.

They used to show that movie every Friday night at midnight. This was back in the 70's when you were allowed to smoke in the last rows of the theaters. Well, they were smoking alright. I was never a dope smoker, and I could just never understand something about the RHPS. I used to come home from that flick and ravage the cabinets and fridge. Then I used to marvel at how that movie made me hungry!

There is NO WAY they can improve on this:

                  YouTube - The Time Warp!

                  or this:

YouTube - Rocky Horror - Sweet Transvestite
                  In Vino Veritas

It was a huge Midnight Movie draw at the theater I worked for back then. We had a agreement with the regulars that they would stay and help clean up after the movie and they did. Was interesting time for sure...RHPS in one theater, Song Remains the Same in another...these were staples. Others held The Wall or other movies. I think we even showed Pink Flamingos...but that didn't last long. Amazing what was basically allowed back then. I have good memories of working the Midnight Movies and being jealous of those coming in to party while I worked.

The original was great. I thought audience participation ruined it.

                              Couldn't disagree more.

Tony is right, it was/is a good movie and the participation screwed it up so you couldn't watch or hear the movie. Most of the audience partic....ipation (to modify a line from the movie) was poorly done and the audience just sat there and yelled swear words. The good RHPS clubs do a good job, just keep the audience out of it.

I have the DVD, and that is how I get my fix now.
