This being news avoidance season for me, I had not heard.
So sad.

I'm with you. I used to read the Boston Globe every morning, but have just cancelled my subscription. Taking a news holiday. In fact, I'm feeling better by just listening to the news on the car radio.
I'm reminded of the famous quote by Butch & Sundance as they jumped off the cliff. "Oh sh.........................!"

Still trying to figure out how to tell my daughter if she hasn't seen it on the internet already. Having met him and attended his wonderful camp, she will be very sad.
When I was in college in New Hampshire in the late 60's, there was a big poster of Paul (kiss kiss) on the ceiling above my bed. During presidential election time, being in NH was very exciting, since everyone came there for the first primaries. One of the visitors, much more important to me than Mr. Nixon, was my Paul. I followed him around like a little puppy and shook hands with him more than once...At one point, he did a little canvassing in the area. He arrived at the door of one house, rang the doorbell, and when the lady of the house opened the door and saw him, she fainted! What a sight, and I didn't blame her one bit. Truly one of my college dreamboats, in my fantasies, of course. I thought he was great, and that never changed. A generous and talented man...

He was a great actor and a good person. I don't ever remember any scandal about Paul Newman, which is rare in the movie industry. God rest your soul, Paul.
