Heard this piece on NPR today. I thought it was interesting. Never really knew or heard of these guys but I sure heard their music

Gamble And Huff, Riding Philly's 'Love Train' : NPR Music

Back in 1974 when I was in grad school, I wore out the "Love is the Message" album by MFSB. MFSB stood for Mother, Father, Sister, Brother (supposedly ) and was essentially the studio musicians the did most of the work on the Gamble and Huff records.

Here's TSOP (The Streets of Philadelphia) - you probably don't recognize the name but you'll almost surely recognize the track.

YouTube - M.F.S.B. T.S.O.P. The sound of Philadelphia (Complete vid) (The video will take you back in time! I think the video is taken from the Streets of Philadelphia television dance show that was syndicated to some local TV stations - sort of like a black Philadelphia based version of American Bandstand.)
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

    “You shouldn't wear that body.”
