Well, I definitely wasn't too young, just on the wrong side of the country. I did see the movie though.

Yeager's farm is connected to my family's property upstate. They had a lot of trespassers back then.

My fav performance was Ten Years After..The fans are so appreciative, they roll up a watermelon to them at the end and Alvin Lee takes it..

I didn't make it- living in Iowa at the time and not a hippie.

Tony i'm guessing you were a child then and not in Iowa. I think there were maybe 3 Piasans in Iowa in 1969. I was 14 then and not a hippie, but did have a Neru shirt. Google that one.

I almost made it, I was 17... but alas it was raining lightly in Buffalo NY area before we were to leave. My then boyfriend (now ex-husband) freaked out because the tires on his car would have gotten dirty (HONESTLY).
You would think little things like that would have tipped me off... I can't even imagine just how unhappy I could have been, had we made it there!

Alas, too young - but had friends a few years older who went.

                      Big Frank,

                      Do you remember Mar's surname.?

I was 18 then and also saw the movie. Thought while watching, it was better to be in the theatre, and not in attendance.

Over the years I have run into people who claim to have attended or near attended or tried to get there. Only ever believed one person. Certainly a defining event for those of us of a certain age.

I was too young in 1969 for Woodstock. I do have back stage passes to West Fest so I will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of Woodstock here in San Francisco.

Will anyone else be in San Francisco Oct 25th for this concert?

Acts confirmed: Country Joe (Country Joe and the Fish), Denny Laine (Paul McCartney, Wings, Moody Blues), Lester Chambers (Chambers Brothers), Harvey Mandel, Barry “The Fish” Milton, David Denny (Steve Miller), Alameda All Stars (Gregg Allman’s Band), Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks, Michael McClure (Beat Poet) and Ray Manzarek (Doors), PF Sloan, Michael Narda Waldon, Jimmy McCarty (Detroit Wheels), Peter Kaukonen, Terry Haggerty (from the Sons of Champlin), John York (Birds), Leigh Stevens (Blue Cheer), Greg Douglas (Steve Miller)

I wore a Neru jacket in the early 60's. There were more than 3 in Iowa, I knew 6 just in Des Moines.

12 years old during the real thing but saw the movie several times over the years. We bought the 40th Anniversary DVD of the movie. Saved it to watch this weekend. Started watching it last night and it is as good as we remembered.
