  • Toxic Sea Food Warning

This news clip is eye-opening to say the least:

Seeing those images reminded me why we are locavores. I would never buy imported seafood, but we are lucky to have a plentiful supply of local produce. It's mainly the supermarkets that stock the imported seafood. I guess it sells because it's cheap. Fortunately all our fresh food is labelled with country or origin so it makes shopping easier. Eating out is a different matter.

This clip is dated November 2007. Hopefully, there have been some changes.

I'd like to hope so but I don't think much has changed. Foreign oil companies INTENTIONALLY use mercury to lubricate their deep-sea drill bits in addition to all the problems listed in the report. Not to get political, but we can't regulate what they do in their waters, which is a strong argument for new land-based drill sites in the US.
