Looks as if it was a natural gas explosion. The gas company had received reports of the smell of gas in the area.

I heard it was caused by a doctor committing suicide. Has that been disproved yet?

I think that is what happened. He emailed his wife threatening it and she called the police. They pulled him out alive and he was speaking to the police.
