Why should Tesla be subject to any different set of rules from any other automaker? I will not support a petition for Tesla to be able to sell direct to customers. I see no reason why Tesla should get any special consideration.
I would, however, wholeheartedly support a petition to allow any car maker to sell its products direct to customers. I see no reason for the government to dictate how any merchant chooses to structure its distribution and sales network. The fact that auto makers are prohibited from selling direct to consumers is simply further evidence that we do, truly, have the best government that money can buy, and auto dealers have been savvy enough to pay the cost.
It doesn't make any difference whether it's a bedroom or a boardroom. The government has no business regulating what two consenting adults choose to do freely, of their own free will. If I choose to buy from a manufacturer or from a dealer simply isn't something that the government should worry about.
