With an expected opening of May 2014
The Capital Wheel would be open
year-round at a cost of $15 per ride.
Developers say the Capital Wheel at National Harbor will send riders soaring 175-feet over the Potomac River waterfront, offering views of the Washington Monument, White House, Arlington County and other D.C. attractions.
Each of the wheel's 42-closed gondolas is the "size of a small car" and will seat eight people and to include 1.6 million lights that will illuminate the wheel at night.
National Harbor is already home to Wyndham National Harbor, Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, Tanger Outlets and National Children’s Museum.
MGM Resorts International won a casino license
to build a $925 million casino @ National Harbor.
