When we were in Boston in May, the store was closing. Why is the basement still open?
Good question and have no fear !
Filene's Basement is a separate operating entity and will remain open. Upstairs, in the old Filene's store, there is planned a mixed usage of the building.
Stay tuned !
wish I could get my daughter in law to go and gt my daughter's wedding dress for us.
Anyone going if you see Nicole Miller dropped waist beaded wedding gown in size 6, it is what we want, grab it.
I'll be there tomorrow and look. There's usually just the "dregs" left, but you never know. What's your price limit and color ? Oh, any play in the size ?
the dress only comes in antique white. we would take a 4 or a 6. If you put Nicole Miller beaded wedding gown on ebay you should come up with a picture, backless, cowl neckline, floor length, 4 poses of the gown on most pictures, beaded trim beading along a droped wiast, many in size 10 on ebay. i have bid endlessly and lost for 4's and 6's. 2 or 3 hundred I suppose if it looks good, more if it looks fantastic. (originally 880)
I have a friend who lives in Watertown - right outside Boston. I couldn't get her to go in to Boston to go shopping. A few years ago she went to the Brides' sale with her future daughter in law and she was traumatized! It must have been some day because, I'm serious, she won't go to Boston to shop!
My avatar is the opposite, it makes me look very thin. I like it. If you take a 4X6 photo and put it in a square frame, I guess you look better. That picture is Rick and me on Napili Beach, across from Gardens at West Maui, our first Hawaii timeshare purchase.
I never heard of "Running of the Brides" before. I was picturing women in wedding gowns, running down the street, kinda like the running of the bulls. I figured they were letting single men know they were available. Now that would be a good idea. I have that single son who has been looking.
