Bran is a great castle. It was a ruin before it was restored by the Romanian Royal Family about 100 years ago. I've been there three times.
There is another castle, still a ruin, about half way between Bran and Brasov, but the climb up the path to it is challenging.
If they wanted a castle ruin that has a real connection to Vlad III Tepes, the historical Dracula, there is one north of Pitesti, Romania. Vlad lived there for many years. Part of it collapsed down the mountainside in the late 1800s. The hike up to it is even more challenging.
The easiest place to find a connection with Vlad is the house in which he was born, just inside the main gate through the city walls into the old town of Sigheshoara, Romania. It is now a restaurant. I had lunch there once some years ago.
