Anna Nicole Smith, 39, passed away Thursday at Joe Di Maggio Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.

“Anna Nicole is deceased," Smith’s attorney Ron Rale confirms to Us Weekly. "We do not know the cause."

Smith was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital shortly after 2 pm. on Thursday after collapsing at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood.

"Anna Nicole Smith checked in to Hard Rock for a vacation on Monday night at 8 p.m.,” Danielle Giordano, Advertising and PR coordinator for Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, tells Us.

“She was due to check out Friday afternoon. She fainted at 2 p.m. here and was rushed to Memorial Hospital."

Access Hollywood reports that fire crews and emergency personnel performed CPR on Smith and put a tube down her throat. A witness at the hotel tells that Anna Nicole was unresponsive by the time rescue workers arrived, and that her bodyguard was visibly shaken at the scene.

Her story is an extremely tragic one. She is a modern day Marilyn Monroe. How sad. How truly sad.

It is tragic but boy there is something a little unusual going on there... I have not read anything in the news, she wasn't sick, right?

Her family will say that it's tragic.

Her late gazillionaire husband's family will say that it's cosmic.

It's just a shame. She was so heartbroken. Every time I saw her on TV after her son's death, she seemed so heavily medicated.
Grief is a powerful thing.

I just pray that someone will really love that poor little girl. She stands to possibly inherit some $400 million. That will trigger some pretty serious custody battles among a number of very greedy people who will probably care very little for her well-being.

Donald Trump was on Imus this morning, and he pretty much accused her lawyer husband, of killing her. Her mom said that she used too many drugs.

One of her friends said that she saw herself as Marilyn Monroe, and that she had a death wish.

She was obvioulsy very troubled, and I think that the death of her son, may have been too much for her to deal with. It's very sad.

It really is tragic. I can only imagine what will happen to that poor little baby.

Anna Nicole did live her life similar to MM. She was an unknown, then became too known and then there was trail after trail in her life.

We saw her as a hottie, then a fattie, then back to a hottie and back and forth. I'm sure that the extremes in weight loss/gain could not have helped her body or her mind.

May she rest in peace.

This is reminscient of Christina Onassis and her small daughter. At least she was raised (and I think raised well) with her father and his new family.
