Woke up this morning to a light sheet of white outside. It is expected to change to rain around 10 AM, but it looks like it may start the ski season in the Berkshires(if it hasn't started already). After a warm up tomorrow and Thursday, the weather outlook is for nothing but cold, so I expect ski season is about to begin north of here.

The crazy snow maniacs in my house (all but me) are very excited!!!
As of yesterday, 13 trails open at Okemo, more at Killington, temps have been going down to 19 degrees at night, lots of snowmaking so there's some base... we head up tomorrow, in our never ending quest to stretch the season as long as possible

Originally posted by shopgirlDenver is getting a good storm tonight. It is already snowing right now, 9: 18 p.m., just a few flakes. We are only supposed to get 2-4 inches, but who trusts the weather guys? Not me!
I hope the slopes get a few feet and really get the ski season off to a cushiony start.JEMartin

My riders are at Okemo, reporting very poor visibility (it is really foggy today), but they are so happy to be on the mountain this early, they don't care!! Temps at the base are just about 32, and they will be making snow again tonight. There is snow on the ground all over (a few inches) and it is beautiful.
