  • Save XP!

For those who have suffered with Vista you know that it is important the PC world not be force fed that abomination without an option. InfoWorld is spearheading a drive to "save" XP after 6/30/08. Please help by signing the petition they have set up to submit to MS.

Also see the options for licensing should they actually stop shipments as threatened.

We don't need the new Millenium OS!

Wait until you do have an "issue" and no one, not even MS, can figure it out. Reload time. If it works for you great. But MS shouldn't force it on those who don't want the extra hardware overhead, incompatibilities, irritating "security" messages, changed menus, buggy service pack (currently withdrawn), etc. We're just asking to have an option for Windows based PC's as they have always offered in the past. I'm no fan of XP but it is a far more stable and usable OS than Vista is or is likely to be for many years to come.

Gotta agree with what "Time" says on this subject matter. XP does run good for an OS from Bill Gates & Company but the OS, Vista, has a long haul in front of them before Bill stops updating & managing XP. It should be a couple more years before Vista is running correctly for all PC users, at least it should be. Keep your XP OS & you'll be glad ya did!

I disagree, I have found Vista to be more stable, I have had much less issues with Vista than I had with XP.

Frank I have Vista on the desktop for DS but when I replaced my laptop a month after having to slog thru Vista I ordered one with XP Pro and paid more for the option. Vista is a pig.

I've signed the petition as well.

I had xp pro on my old laptop and now Vista Premium on my newer one and am happy with it. I suspect that's only because I don't do proper work on it though. The petition is a great idea. With so many people preferring XP, they should continue to support it.

Count me as another one who signed the petition.

I bought a brand new computer a while back and it had Vista on it. I hated it and sent the computer back. Turned around and bought a computer that had XP on it. If I can help it, I'll never, NEVER have Vista again.
