  • NBC's Tim Russert dies

Tim Russert, host of NBC's "Meet the Press," has died at 58, NBC News has confirmed.
Russert's death was first reported by the New York Times in its online edition, citing a family source. The newspaper said the cause of death was a heart attack.

Reporting on the air, veteran NBC News anchorman Tom Brokaw said Russert had collapsed Friday afternoon in the network's Washington bureau.
Russert served as managing editor and moderator of "Meet the Press," as well as political analyst for "NBC Nightly News" and the "Today" program.

Sorry to hear this. So tragic for his family.

Russert was about the only reporter at NBC that had any credibility to me.

Tim Russet was one of the best TV reports around. An all around good guy. It is great when one of us Blue Collar folks make it big.

It is a shame that the good die young.

One of the best. Tim was a giant in his field. He always had a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed. R.I.P. Tim.

Tim's death is a great lose to us. He was honest, funny and pleasant and seemed to know his facts and liked by most if not all.

I had the NBC news on when they came on and told everyone it had just happened few minutes earlier! This was shocking and a major loss to all the people in the news and his fans.

I have my TVO set on Sunday for years to watch Tim get to the truth with all these people who change their statements everyday.

He was great at asking questions then showing their statements from earlier time and watch them try and get out of it!

                          He was just the best!

                          Best wishes to his family!

This is a great loss to the news industry and even a greater loss to his family/father.
