Maybe they should come up with having to join an airline travel club and pay maintenance fees each year to keep the planes up ! Oh, you would have to pay every year even if you did not fly for the year.

Possibly contentious, but I don't understand why people expect to get a refund when prices drop after a purchase has been made. Would they expect to pay the extra if the price increases after their purchase? Would they expect to get a refund of the difference if they purchased any other goods e.g. clothes or kitchen appliances, if the price dropped after they had purchased?

FlyBE charges you to get a refund of the taxes you paid on your ticket if you cancel out. That is the one that takes the cake to me. The fee works out to more than the taxes you would get back!

Also, most European airlines, both legacy and LCC are charging you to use your credit or debit card to buy the ticket online, and it is often $5-10 per segment!

The real stinker lately, however, has been Delta with its ''fuel surcharge'' on award tickets, which can be over $200 in some instances.
