Just so everyone knows. I did not approve of his behavior. I thought the issue was newsworthy here on these forums. I do like most of his music as well. I had just arrived home and heard the news that he was rushed to the hospital. Then that the situation was critical. Then he passed. It all unfolded so fast. Most of us including me questioned the authenticity of the report coming from TMZ.

      Unfortunately it was all accurate.

Hard to believe a gossip site had the real scoop, but there you go.

He had a cardiac arrest according to CNN.

Per up to date Cnn report Jackson went into a coma and then died short time later.

Report I watched around two pm had three reports that he had passed away without ever starting to breath because his heart stop pumping.

Report about three o'clock said he had died but UCLA Medical Center by law couldn't release details or even state Jackson was there until family ok'd it!

It is sad and shocking and reminds me of how fast we lost Elvis.

I wonder if ''recreational substances'' were involved. Some of them are known to impact the heart if too much is used.

I heard that he had medications that may have been an issue. The person interviewed said something like (not a direct quote) 'could make Anna Nicole Smith look like a minor case'.

One of the local news stations was showing Thriller clips as well as recordings of when he was here in the 90s. He was good back then.

Thanks to all for the youtube postings.

This is all very sad, such good memories growing up dancing and singing with my mom and my sister. It's terrible what the media put him through and how things ended up.. the price for being one of the most famous performers of all time.

Amanda, he was one of the best performers of our time. But, i personally believe that it wasn't the media that put him through anything. The old saying holds true for me: "Where there is Smoke, there is Fire" Too many accusations. But, it doesn't take away from his genious as a performer. R.I.P.

BTW i blame his father for what be became.

He died on the same day as my brother's birthday. I had sent my brother an email wishing happy birthday and asked what he thought of MJ dying on that day. He didn't like MJ because he was a "petafiel". Not sure if that has to do with the PETA people or what that was about, other than no spell check on his email. But I had to laugh at it.

Joe, I agree and disagree with you. He definitely had his faults and did some things for which he felt regret I am sure. However, I do feel that some of his insecurities were compounded by the media publicizing his every move and making fun of his cosmetic surgury ~ and for someone who appeared to be trying to erase family resemblence.. that's just cruel.

Totally agree about his father. I watched his CNN interview from the BET awards on youtube and could you believe that this jerk had the nerve to put in a plug for his record label when he was being asked about his son's death? I really don't have any appropriate words for that man.

                                Very, very sad.

I have always liked Michael Jackson a lot and loved his music. I really felt sorry for him for along time with the tabloids making up rubbish about him and greedy people trying to exploit him with accusations for which he was acquitted.

He was always a very gentle, humble and caring person and it is evident in the way he talks and his mannerisms in his interviews. Also, why did they never focus on the good stuff he did for others?

Very sad. He will be greatly missed.
