    I didn't watch him a lot, but he was a classic. He was kind of a grandpa, kind of the old professor. I am certainly saddened by the loss, but he did live a life of experience.

      I admired him and watched his news. RIP Walter Conkrite. He gave us inpartisan news.

          He set the standard what a TV news anchor should be.

            I can remember his reaction when he broke the official news to the nation that President Kennedy had died.

            Also, I saw him a few times in Edgartown, M.V., Massachusetts sailing in the harbor.

            He was the best IMHO.

              Another great Missourian has died, Cronkite was born in St. Joseph, MO. I remember watching him on TV when I grew up.

                A true classic--one of a kind. It was too bad CBS couldn't make more use of him after he left CBS evening new.
