Thanks! These will be very helpful on my next trip to ancient Rome.

BTW, semper ubi sub ubi is used in an episode of Frasier--Niles carved it into the floor of the family's vacation cabin when he was a child. I just saw this episode a couple of weeks ago.

I love them. I took Latin in HS and college, mainly because my accent in French was so excruciatingly bad that I wanted to switch to something where pronunciation didn't matter. (Years later I realized my French teacher had such a thick Bulgarian accent that he was almost incomprehensible in English. I'm sure he had a horrible accent in French, too, duhhhh.)

I'm trying to think how to use these at a party without making Latin fortune cookies. Is there a game to be played with them? Give everybody a Latin phrase and an English translation and make everybody find their translations?

Call me, my number is Ecum spiri 2 2 0 (just some Catholic humor here).

Seriously, that sounds like a fun party especially if a lot went to parochial school. I never did, but did go to Girls' Latin School in Boston.
