OMG, I've probably eaten thousands in my lifetime because I never looked. From now on, my strawberries will get a soap bath rather than a rinse under the spigot. I know I'll be checking out any chocolate covered strawberries that I eat in the future.

I just finished cleaning 2 pounds of strawberries and I just soaked them in water before cutting them up.

This clip didn't say these insects were harmful, but they are unappetizing. I guess over the years we've all gotten a little more protein from our strawberries than we'd realized.

Better than digesting soap residue IMO.

Yikes! I am such a strawberry lover, especially when those Plant City berries are in season. I buy lots and lots, and freeze most of them. I guess the llittle bugs are deceased by the time I eat them...

Strawberries hold up well and are good for freezing. Great to add to icecream while frozen, double crunchy. Run them through the food processor or blender and you get a slushie.

Odd how some items freeze well, others don't. Blueberries-yes, tomatoes-no. Okay, tomatoes freeze, but thaw as a glop. Okay in stews or soups, but that is about it.

I freeze them after I've processed them to mix with my yogurt for lunch, or to put on ice cream and such....delicious before or after freezing.
