  • Easy & Scrumptious Oreo Balls

I had these over the weekend, and they were incredible! Easy to make, too. No baking.

You could make hearts instead of balls, and serve them fro Valentines Day, or egg shapes for Easter.

    Oreo Balls Recipe - Food.com - 52035

1 package regular size Oreo cookies, crushed
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
    1 package white almond bark
    1 package chocolate almond bark
    Change Measurements: US | Metric
    Directions:
    Prep Time: 2 hrs
    Total Time: 2 hrs
1 Using a blender or hand held mixer, mix Oreos and cream cheese together.
2 Roll into walnut size balls.
    3 Chill for an hour.
4 Melt approximately 3/4 package of white almond bark.
5 Stick a toothpick in an Oreo ball and dip it in the melted white almond bark.
6 Allow to harden on wax paper.
    7 Takes about 15 min.
8 While waiting, melt about 1/4 package of chocolate almond bark.
9 When Oreo balls are no longer sticky to the touch, decorate with drizzles of chocolate and white almond bark.
10 I just use a sandwich bag with a tiny hole cut in one corner to drizzle the almond bark.

OMG - sounds so yummy. I'm going to have to hold off making these or I'm going to need to invest in a much larger size wardrobe. Thanks for the post - I love trying new things.

DW made a batch and it went well. However...as I alway do, I suggested a modification to her. Second batch she upped the cream cheese to 1-1/2 package. The result was more creamy and smooth. Big hit at the wine club meeting last night. Several people asked for the recipe. In fact, it will be posted in the newsletter.

Now she wants to try the peanut butter oreos and use half peanut butter and half cream cheese.

Just be careful with any oreos that are "double cream" because they come MUCH softer. In fact, you will need to put them in the frig to chill/harden, for a number of hours, before dipping in chocolate.

I'm not sure if the addition of extra cream cheese will help the recipe, or perhaps make it even worse.

If you try it, let us know. Thanks!

          Glad they were a hit!

The extra cream cheese makes it softer and needs to be chilled well, but it is very creamy and good. The DW said she would likely not make these in the summer.

Comments from the wine club is that they are 'very addicting'.
