Trader Joes' Applewood Smoked Bacon and Niman Ranch both taste very good to me. The only difference to regular bacon is they don't have the same shelf life due to no nitrites.

Where did you get your Presto Wave cooker? I have checked some kitchen stores but they have not heard of it. Did you order it online and also how many slices does it hold? Thanks.

We tried the precooked bacon from Omaha steaks. My take on it was it tasted good to me. In fact each strip was perfectly straight and all were the same size. To my wife she likes her bacon less cooked in fact she likes it like rubber.
Looking at the package it is not appetizing. The weight on 100 slices was 12 OZ. I paid on sale $20 for the 12 oz 100 count package. Now if you do the math you will see that even though it is only 12 Oz's after cooking it is equal to about 5 LBS of uncooked bacon. On the AVG there are 18 to 20 slices in a pound of bacon.

The problem with pre-cooked bacon is that it leaves very little if no residual bacon grease. As everyone knows, including Emeril, bacon grease makes all food taste better.

Had never the precooked stuff before but with all talk on this thread figured I had to give it a try. I tried the Hormel brand and thought it was pretty good. Taste was good and was nice and crispy. Now, my one son would not like it as he is one of those like your wife Frank who likes his bacon just barely cooked.
