Last night we caught two bucket loads of squid. They are all about 10 inches long. We cleaned them by pulling out the plastic looking dealio and seperating the bottom from the top. Cleaned the tops ( mantel ) really good and skined them. These look good enough to eat. Head and legs don't look right enough to eat.

So does anyone know how to cook these. Im thinking about trying some deep fried, just like prawns.

If nothing else I guess we caught alot of bait.

I think you can marinate and grill it, too. Have you looked for recipes online?

I think they call it Calamari. A distinctive texture somewhere between rubber and vinyl. Bon Apetite !

Some of the people are eating them whole, guts and all, after 2 minutes a side on the bbq. Its really funny making them smile as the ink sack in the squid is turning these peoples gums and teeth black. ha ha

They make great sandwiches. Texture and taste somewhat like abalone.
