  • Apple Pie....Baked Apples

These look yummy, and appear to be much easier than making apple pie. I think I'm going to give them a try.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Making a lattice? Mine would be a mess. My grandmother made fantastic apple dumplings. OMG, soooo good. She didn't make hard sauce, like in this recipe, but she made the most fabulous pie crust in the world.

Lol. Thats the easy part, imo. You can buy the dough pre-made, and then just cut strips.

      The apple dumplings sound great!

Did you have them when you were a kid? When we go to Pennsylvania, they have them at Amish bakeries. I got all excited when we saw them there, but the ones we got were terrible--the crust was thick and chewy and flavorless, not rich and crispy like Grandma's.

Maybe I should give pie crust another try...or, wait! Trader Joe's pie crust is really good. Maybe I'll make apple dumplings with that.

Nope. They sound great, but I've never had them.

I'd give pie crust another try. If you like Trader Joe's, then go with that. Pre made pie crust may not taste as yummy as grandma's, but it sure makes baking a whole bunch easier.
