I am doing good with it, I try to fly at least once a week. I am suppose to go tomorrow with my friend who is now hooked. The glasses the guy is wearing my son bought me for Christmas. The drone in that Video is a Kit you build and is a Racing drone. I have that kit but have not had time to finish it yet.

Funny you should say that. I "revisited" (via travelbydrone) some of the islands that I scooted around about 30 years ago. I enjoyed the trip down memory lane and you can imagine the changes over that time, I expect they have hot water now . I have fond memories of the one week of luxury at the timeshare further down the coast.

DS and his friends build drones too and I'm pleased to have a never-ending list of gift ideas. Do you sell parts/accessories too? I have a request for a ImmersionRC DUO5800 v4.1 Race Edition 40ch 5.8GHz Raceband Diversity Receiver Dual Output.

How do you like this one, Frank? It looks very easy to do in open spaces.

Nobody sems to have mentioned safety issues ....they are not very common in Europe yet.
Was at a wedding near Lisbon recently and as we assembled for the traditional group photo a guy flew his drone very low and dangerous over us .
Mini panic particulary amongst the elderly ...guess we will all have to get used to them and in time they will be regulated

I went flying today. I had it close to the clouds and then I saw it, a plane was coming. I was not close but if you ask them they would say it was a half mile away on the side. I did not think this drone could go that high. This one cost just under $400 and I had no idea it could go that high. IMO there is no reason to go that high unless you are google maps. They need to make them so once it hits say 1000 feet then it should level off.

If any member is looking to buy a small tiny drones for about $30 I have a few to choose from.

BTW here are the new rules. The tiny ones will not be part of it because they can not go to 400 feet

                        Just in time for Christmas

FAA announces drone owners must register by February 19th, 2016

Regulation of drones in the hands of civilian pilots took a big step forward today. The Federal Aviation Administration announced that all units weighing between 0.55 pounds and 50 pounds must be registered by February 19th, 2016. Anyone caught flying without proper registration after that date could face stiff penalties. The FAA says civil penalties include a fine of up to $27,500. Criminal penalties include a fine of up to $250,000 and up to three years in jail.

The registration will usually include a $5 fee, but the FAA is waiving that for the first 30 days in an effort to encourage participation. It notes that "registrants will need to provide their name, home address and e-mail address. Upon completion of the registration process, the web application will generate a Certificate of Aircraft Registration/Proof of Ownership that will include a unique identification number for the UAS owner, which must be marked on the aircraft." Time to break out those decal packs.

The unit that is in the picture is a Yuneec 4k, I have that drone. I have gone into the clouds with it. In fact I flew it 3 nights ago and hit 1500 ft up. Units that can go above 500 ft IMO something should be done. I do not think that there should be a charge for this. Figures the Government had to make on it. I do not think it is fair that a person buying a $200 drone should have to register. Those drones are not made to go that high. They should include a free registration card inside the box with high end brands like, DJI, Walkera, Blade, Yuneec, Ehang Ghost,.............

I wonder what will happen to a 14 year old that does not register?

I am happy that all my flying toys are too small to require registration. Even my biggest helicopter is too light to need it.
Plus, I can't fly worth a darned, so don't often take them out.
For some reason, my brain can't figure out that when my helicopter is flying away, the joystick turned to the right makes it go right, but when it is coming back, turning the joystick to the right makes it go to the left. Crash. End of flight.

What is funny is that I waited so long to learn on the little ones that when I got to fly the big boy toys it was so simple. They are easyier to fly than the little guys. The Yuneec 4k is my favorite drone

Eric did you ever get to try yours out
