some favourites from across the pond....

its got to be "chips, cheese & gravy" (thats chips as in french fries!) served in a plastic tray, eaten with a plastic fork and washed down with a bottle of beer, preferably eaten whilst sitting on the beach watching the world go by

though the other english staples pepperoni pizza, cornish pasty, chicken tikka masala or good old fish 'n chips would all be close second choices.

Jack in the Box is what McDonalds was a generation ago. We never go to McDonalds anymore and, ironically, the first McD franchise was in the town I grew up in and that franchise owner's son owns the McD in the town I currently live in. Never been there.

Is Pizza considered Fast Food. If it is then Pizza takes first place hands down.

Sandwiches at the Riverton store (CT), grinders on Franklin Ave. in Hartford and Roast Pork Egg Foo young. Haven't been to the Riverton store in several years and it's been longer for the grinders that were quite frequent when I worked in Hartford. We don't do fast food often, but when we are on the road we will sometimes stop at a Subway if we haven't made sandwiches.
Fish and chips at Clancy's on the Cape is one of my favorites, but it's really not that fast and it certainly would take a few hours to get there from here. What I really used to love when I was in the midwest was a pork tenderloin sandwich at Sandy's (?).

Arby's roast beef sandwiches are pretty good especially with lots of horsy sauce.
We also have a locally owned hot dog place called Hot Dog Charlie's in this area, the mini dogs with meat sauce are pretty good.
There is an Arbys in the town I live in and I might give it a try.

Speaking of pizzas... They have started to open up a lot of Indian pizzerias in San Francisco. Where they use curry sauce instead of the red sauce and naan bread instead of the traditional pizza bread. They also use barbecue chicken and it is mmm!!! good!!!

When I was working in San Bernardino 30 years ago, there were many small burrito stands tucked away in shopping centers, almost all of whom served up excellent combo burritos. There was a group of about five of us who made it a habit of checking out various places and reporting back.

There was one stand in particular that had people lining up down the block starting about 11:30.

If you're ever in downtown Seattle, a local fast food staple is Bakeman's, serving turkey sandwiches on homemade bread. It's real turkey, baked and sliced, not turkey loaf, turkey pieces, or roast shards of turkey.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

                    “You shouldn't wear that body.”

No. Not one int he northeast.

When I was a kid there was one when we took the long way home from a day at Long Beach, LI. Maybe that is why I CRAVE them so much when we head west.

My last Jack's was in April at the Flagstaff location and my next probably won't be until end of June. I KNOW they are in N Carolina I just don't know how far from the outer banks.

So yeah. In addition to planning vacations I tend to target at least one a year where I can indulge.

Have some poppers for me Ken.

I also like White Castle Belly bombers.

With choices like these it's a good thing that I eat fastfood as rarely as I do.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Okay, now, see, those I can TOTALLY resist. I never tried them till I was an adult and then I was horrified.
