In my area though there are far fewer restaurants participating.

From a peak of 3yrs ago to now, the 70% off doesn't mean much because there are no places in the programme near bye that I would want to go.

Peter Lynch would be selling stock off.

Keep checking back in. They tend to add and remove restaurants all the time. If you know your going away with in a year. Buy the GC for that area.

          basham,

Gee, that's too bad. There are plenty in my area, including one of my DH's favorites. I bought a bunch of them yesterday, for the price, it was a steal.

In the seattle area, restaurant participation has also severely dropped off. I talked to the owner of one restaurant, and she said that it ended up being the same few people using over and over again. I always look for a restaurant where I am traveling to just in case.

If I purchase some certificates for specific restuarants today, how long are they good for?

I'm pretty sure that other than California, you have 1 year from the date of purchase, to use the certificate.

Pretty much everything available in my area requires a minimum purchase. So, for example, if I buy a $10 GC for $3 and there's a $30 minimum purchase at the restaurant in order for me to use the GC, I will spend $23 for $30 worth of food. The savings just aren't that substantial, IMHO -- but I guess every little bit helps.

Except, if you buy today or tomorrow, then the $10 certificate will only cost you 90 cents after the special 70% discount.

In my case, we are using 5 weeks of timeshare in Jan/Feb and 4 weeks in May. I just purchased a whole bunch of $25 certificates for $3 each. They mostly have a $35 minimum purchase, but still I'm getting $35 of food for $13. Hard to beat that if the restuartants are any good at all.

Thanks for the post, In my area I guess there is a bit more competition. I was able to buy $100 worth of certificates for $12. This will motivate my wife and I to invite friends out to dinner and drinks. Something we should do more often anyway. Ben

I can not believe I posted on this topic, single malts will do that sometimes, but truthfully it was probably the cask of wine,.

I got the $100 gift certificates for $12 as suggested and hope to be able to use them.

                        Happy New Years to All.

                            Coupons works great

We are on the 1st week of a 5 week FL t/s trip. Bought a bunch of the coupons on the 70% off deal. Have used 4 of them the first six nights we have been here. Thus, so far have gotten $100 off our bills for a cost of only $12. Neat way to have saved $88 this week, and the restaurants were all really good as well.

Is it over? I tried to order and put in CHEERS and said it was an invalid code. shaggy
