    jericap,
This frittelle recipe sounds close for the "pocket" portion. The ones I had though were about the size of your fist...well, OK, my fist. The cod fillings etc. are extremely disgusting to me and would never use. I have a rule here in Minnesota lakes country. "Never eat anything your dog will roll in". That includes dead fish, cow manure, and various road kill.

      BF,
These sound dirty and I think should be left to another forum.

Sandcrab....I think we have the same saying in CT; I would never eat anything like that either, but I imagine you could fill it with what ever you wanted. A search on the web describes the dough as fried cream puff dough, usually used as a dessert. Maybe someone in Italy was ingenious and used different fillings. I can't think of anything else. I hear my brain starting to fry
.I know what Frank is talking about, when you order them in italy, they give you about 4 of them..profiteroles, usually filled with custard, ricotta filling or choc. ricotta filling, very good and light

            Could it be a panini?

I don't know. "Might of been the whiskey, might have been the gin, might have been the three or four six packs...I don't know..."
