  • Lasagna noodles

I have always cooked the lasagna in our family. I always use the packages of dry noodles. My DD wanted me to teach her how to make lasagna. When we were boiling the noodles, she asked if we could use fresh noodles and if we did use fresh noodles, did we need to boil them first.

    What is the answer??

Hmmm, well we don't even boil the boxed lasagne noodles. I wouldn't think you'd have to pre-cook the fresh ones.

I wouldn't think you would have to boil the noodles on fresh pasta. Just be sure to make sure there is enough sauce when putting it together so the noodles will cook thoroughly.

I agree.....I don't ever boil my noodles when making Lasagna. The key is to add lots of sauce so that the sauce cooks the pasta. This method also helps to insure that the pasta is not watery. The uncooked pasta will absorb much of the excess water from the cheese, as it cooks.

        Good luck!

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Bill the bottom line is No. You do not boil fresh lasagna, it's ready for baking.

Another WOW I didn't know that thing. I haven't made my lasagna in years so much effort but if I talk myself into it I will try not pre-cooking the noodles.
