I felt they were a let down based on the ones of years past.

Holy cow I agree with Bing! The ads, the Who - what a shambles compared to past years. The half time should be axed (we're out of 30 year past prime acts anyway) and the ads hit a new low yesterday. The ground hog was cute, I liked the surprise of Leno/Oprah/Letterman (what was it promoting? The return of #1 Leno? Not sure) but most - even the usually reliable Bud ones - were awful this year. I guess the hard times hit creativity too. It even degraded what should have been an exciting game as I kept losing interest avoiding the dumb ads. The game was an afterthought - too bad as it should have been one of the more evenly matched, well played and thus better recent Superbowls. But instead I couldn't wait for it to be over so I could change channels. What a way to degrade what should be an important game.

The Leno/Letterman/Oprah ad was promoting the Late Show with David Letterman. It's embedded in this page from Entertainment Weekly.

I didn't really get it till I watched LAST year's commercial with Letterman and Oprah, which is embedded farther down the page. Then it was funny!

I liked the Google ad....second one on this page.

What's even more amazing about the L&L commercial is that Dave has not spoken to Jay since Jay got the Tonight Show 18 yrs ago. Before that they were good buds. I don't understand why Jay would agree to promote the Letterman Show and I'm really surprised that NBC allowed it. They must have figured that no matter what it would also be good advertisement for the Tonight Show.

I liked that one as well - although is this a glimpse of our future - REALLY?

I don't watch TV commercials. I switch channels when they come on. I also switched after 30 seconds of the half-time show.

I did enjoy Queen Latifah and Carrie Underwood.

I thought the Charger one was great, actually clever. I found most of the others disappointing, though I must admit I didn't watch them all.

My wife and I just bought a new car so we really cracked up about the Dodge Charger ad. The car is actually for her (mostly) and it had to fit her criteria....she drives hard and fast....so my attempts at getting her a Hyundai were laughed at and feeble.

I also have season tickets to the Angels and the Ducks so that even added to our connection to that ad. I do a lot around the house etc but I get to escape to my games when the schedule can be worked out.

Yep, Just like what Wacky said, except I think it also helped Leno as any publicity is good publicity...

There was a poll running here in the Bay area about this ad. 2/3 think the ad helps Letterman and the other 1/3 think it helps Leno.

I don't think most people would get this one though due to the Napoleon reference...

Entertainment Weekly said it was the coolest thing Leno has done in...well, ever.
