I felt they were a let down based on the ones of years past.

The Leno/Letterman/Oprah ad was promoting the Late Show with David Letterman. It's embedded in this page from Entertainment Weekly.

I didn't really get it till I watched LAST year's commercial with Letterman and Oprah, which is embedded farther down the page. Then it was funny!
I liked the Google ad....second one on this page.

What's even more amazing about the L&L commercial is that Dave has not spoken to Jay since Jay got the Tonight Show 18 yrs ago. Before that they were good buds. I don't understand why Jay would agree to promote the Letterman Show and I'm really surprised that NBC allowed it. They must have figured that no matter what it would also be good advertisement for the Tonight Show.Pat H

I thought the Charger one was great, actually clever. I found most of the others disappointing, though I must admit I didn't watch them all.

My wife and I just bought a new car so we really cracked up about the Dodge Charger ad. The car is actually for her (mostly) and it had to fit her criteria....she drives hard and fast....so my attempts at getting her a Hyundai were laughed at and feeble.
I also have season tickets to the Angels and the Ducks so that even added to our connection to that ad. I do a lot around the house etc but I get to escape to my games when the schedule can be worked out.

There was a poll running here in the Bay area about this ad. 2/3 think the ad helps Letterman and the other 1/3 think it helps Leno.

Originally posted by wackymotherI love the commercials, but I wait till later in the week when Entertainment Weekly and the NY Times do their whole advertising round-up. I still like the Garmin one from a few years ago with the car driving through the streets of Paris....

I don't think most people would get this one though due to the Napoleon reference...
