Was there earlier in the week ..great to see tennis live . But was surprised ( well maybe not ) with the lack of US players among the seeds. Any thoughts Walt ?

How many days were you there? How did you get tickets? Where did you stay?
We are thinking about going in 2012.
As far as lack of US players seeded, I know of no places in the US that have Red Clay Courts. We have "Har Tru" or Green Clay Courts in the US but, from what I heard, Red Clay plays very different from our Green Clay. So, Americans, have to go to Europe if they want to practice on Red Clay. With out this practice, they may never be able to win on Red Clay
There are also less top 10 American men players and only the William sister are top players in the women.
The USTA doesn't seem to be doing the job of getting the 12-16 year American tennis players to the next level of top 10 Pro players.
