I would root for any team that would take L.A. off their pedestal.

Boston does not suck, but though I am a big fan, I never thought they'd make it this far. That won't stop me from cheering pretty hard!

When it came down to it, the Lakers pull out the outstanding defensive effort. Who would imagine LA clinching on a night when they shoot a measly 33% from the floor, and 67% from the FT line? Great games from Artest and Gasol.

Congrats to the World Champion Los Angeles Lakers!!!!

Last nights game was the single toughest win I have ever seen for the Lakers. It was against one of the best defenses ever. Not pretty, but very gratifying.

That would have to be next year. Lakers are Back-to-Back NBA Champions.

Last night the best team won. The Lakers are NBA Champs. Old legs cannot run with the young bucks.

If Kobe heals and the team stays relatively healthy, they have a good chance at a three peat. It also depends on where LeBron James goes and if his new team also gets Bosh or Wade. That team will be formidable even in their first year.

The Lakers need to re-sign Derek Fisher and another point guard. The rest of the team is pretty much in tact. It would be nice if Phil Jackson comes back, but even I could coach this team to a 3-peat.

The Lakers now have toughness on defense, tremendous offensive skills and championship experience. They can play and win against any style of ball.

I think Boston is done. That team will be broken up and they will be rebuilding next year.

Kobe will heal if he rests and doesn't do the world cup thingee. It is also important that Andrew Bynum gets well as he is a big force in the middle. I am sure the Lakers will have no problem resigning Fisher. I just can't see him playing anywhere else. He tried it already.

I don't care where James goes, if anywhere. The title will be the Lakers to lose so it is up to them. Though Lebron James is a great player, I firmly believe that Kobe is far more valuable to a team's success.

The team that I am most worried about is Oklahoma City. They gave the Lakers a battle and are very young so they are just going to get better if they keep the team together.

James is only one player on a team; it takes five excellent basketball players working together to win a NBA Title.

Kobe looks aged and can not do it along. So time will tell if his window is closing quickly on him or not. He will still be a force, but he now needs more on the team than before. If Bynum is health, it will be a great match up problem for team come out East. If not, I don't see Gasol be a good center, he probably is best forward now, but from time to time, he show he can not handle center duty.

I don't think without Phil Jackson, they can have 3 peat. When Kobe and Shake were young, it took a lot of coachs and most can not bring enough paly-off wins. Dallas' Jerry Jones used to think that way, and kind of waste the opportunities there.
