MINNEAPOLIS (AP)—The New York Giants are having trouble getting to Minnesota for their game against the Vikings.

With about a foot of blowing snow falling in the Twin Cities area and closing the airport Saturday afternoon, the Giants’ charter flight was forced to land in Kansas City. Team spokesman Pat Hanlon said on Twitter the team will spend the night there.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Sunday’s game was still scheduled to start at 1 p.m. EST, with the Giants planning to fly to Minnesota on Sunday morning.

Vikings quarterback Brett Favre(notes) is aiming to make his NFL-record 298th straight start, with a sprained shoulder that has made throwing difficult. He’s listed as questionable to play the Giants.

      My yard is gone.

I have lost everything in my yard. My shrubs are gone, my solar lights by the path are gone, heck, the path is gone. Everything is under 16 (or more) inches of snow.

I have done the snowblowing on the driveway once, it needs it again. Snow was higher than the opening of the snow blower. Made it tough to do the job when you have to do an area, then clean off the snowblower, then go again.

Roads are closed in some sections of the metro area. And we know how to deal with snow.

This is likely to go down and the 4th largest storm in the twin cities.

Ah, a normal year in Minnesota. Well, at least it isn't 105 degrees.

This is our third storm. We had an 8 inch snowfall, 10 and now 16". Our average is some over 50 inches for the year. We haven't even begun winter and we are over half way to our average piling of white stuff.

White dog in the white snow has led to problems in the past. This year-not so much. Snow is about double poor Steffi's height. And this is a dog who likes to walk to find the perfect spot to do her thing. Steffi does get her coat before going out. Starting tomorrow we get sub zero temps.

I would take 105 degrees hands down over cold and snow or rain.

My golf buddy and his wife from here (now) that we met OY, are from Eden Prairie. I don't think they miss this part of that.

There are in SOCAL now, Carlsbad, so they are missing the nasty we are having here.

In Alexandria, MN as I post this. No new snow at all out here - just zero temps and blustery northwesterly winds.
“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”

“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”

Milwaukee (city proper) still getting rain . . . but about 45 minutes north, Sheboygan is getting hammered with snow. It may turn to snow later tonight for us in Milwaukee.

It's official . . . The Giants are stranded in KC and the game has been rescheduled to Monday.

We are having 50 MPH winds and bitter cold here, further south, and the Banson Belle got blown aground tonight. 500 passengers will be spending the night on it.

It was really warm here in southern Cal. Saturday in the high 70's and it's supposed to be in the 80's on Sunday.

That may change too. The dome roof has collapsed. Roof is inflated normally, but two panels have been damaged and not sure what will happen by tomorrow night.

                              Stay tuned.
