  • Giants got ripped off against GB, They should have won the Refs blew it

Picture in one of the NY papers of Jake ballards catch shows he was in bounds when he made that catch. Giants had to settle for a FG if they had gotten the 4 extra points they not only would have won but that would have given Manning more FF points and that would ended Green bays perfect season and to make matters even worse. That catch would have given my son Sal just enough to finish up one more place in the finale standings since he has Manning.

Welcome to the world of the Bills fans. In the 1990 Super Bowl we were victims of at least two bad calls (vs those Giants) that cost us a title. And don't forget the "Music City non-call forward lateral" that cost us our last shot to return with our 90's star players.

I guess it comes around eventually. But I'd rather they simply get it right. Life goes on (but the loss still hurts....)

But for every down like that there is hopefully a high like 51-3 over the Raiders for the AFC Championship and, of course "the comeback" over the then Houston Oilers for us Bills fans - so maybe it really does even out over time. It's your team win or lose and that's why it's all worth it.

Heck our heartbreaking "wide right" was your great win. So it goes.

What was Coughlin thinking? As I recall he lost 2 Challenges and therefore would not have a Chanllenge near the end of the game.

The way the game was playing out, everyone knew that the game could be won with the last play of the game. Why would you not save your last challenge toward the end of the game when the game is on the line and also save a time out.

Every team has lost with a bad call including the Packers. They lost the 1998/1999 NFC Championship game againt the 49'er when they ruled that Jerry Rice did not fumble

But San Francisco responded with an equally impressive drive, in which Jerry Rice visibly fumbled on his first reception of the drive, but was ruled down by contact even though replays clearly showed the ball came out before his knee hit the ground.

Coughlin admitted he didn’t think he would win the challenge but figured it was worth a shot.

“The second one I really shouldn’t have challenged,’’ said Coughlin, who has lost his last four replay challenges. “I’ve been overly aggressive with those calls, not waiting for any kind of advice from upstairs. I’ve done so for a number of reasons. The one on the sideline I was upset, I really was, it was third and three and I thought we had ’em stopped.

Sorry Frank. I don't agree. I believe the officials called that one correctly. Ballard's knee did not completely hit inbounds. Every scoring drive in the NFL goes under review. There would have been no need to challenge. In fact I don't think they can be challenged.

You know what a rabid fan I am. If it was remotely close I would have been howling.

I'm more annoyed at Eli who instead of going long for a relatively open Hakeem Nicks, he threw to his outlet man Bradshaw that ended up being intercepted by Clay Mathews. THAT was the difference in the game.

I am still amazed the refs called the "fumble" on my man Tim Tebow - I thought the ground couldn't cause a fumble?

He hit the ground and hitting the ground knocked it loose --- WTF?

          He still won though

I thought the video clearly showed the ball starting to slip out as a result of the defender knocking it with his hand. And that was definitely before his knee was down. The ground pushed the ball out more, but the ball was definitely moving before it hit the ground.

The refs made the right call.
            He still won though
Much more of a team effort this week, but it is still the "it" factor!

It didn't matter, Green Bay would have just scored a touchdown in the end,
instead of settling for the field goal.

Frank, lawren in post number 4 has it right.

What about the many uncalled pass interference calls that should have been called against the Giants?

Or what TV announcers called the lame personal foul call against Green Bays Clay Matthews?

The Gaints did not have Brett to bail them out like he did a few years ago in the Championship game.

The Gaints were lucky two of the better offensive Packers Linemen were out.
The Packers are simply a better deeper team.

The issue with still photos and part of the reason why ref's can't use them is, there is no way to tell if the ball is moving. I saw the photos you are talking about, there is no way to determine if Jake has complete control of the ball before sliding out of bounds by looking at the pictures.
